Broadband – race intensified

Advancement in data plans in India, have led to a complete reshape the Internet culture. Due to introduction of the JIO plans in 2016 led to ease of access to Internet to Millions of Indians and thus, forced other brands to drop down their plan prices.

Similar WAR is now live after JIO introduced the JIO GigaFiber and availed the users the access to Landline connections, DTH services as well as data ranging from 100GB per month to unlimited data at a very reasonable speed and costs.
In the bid to win the FTTH (fiber to the home services), both JIO and Bharti Airtel have come up with interesting strategies of triple play of video, data and voice. Tata Sky also plans to join this war.
Even though Airtel have an advantage of 2.36 million users for the same, JIO plans to overtake them by providing vast variety of value-added benefits.
After the launch of JIO fiber, Airtel too has plans of the same availabilities while offering the users free Subscriptions of leading streaming apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Zee5 Premium as well as some ‘Airtel Thanks’ benefits to loyal users.
One arena where JIO always wins is pricing. If JIO puts affordable pricing options they can easily win over the market
But the question of long run still remains as JIO traffic increases the speed will automatically drop as latest results show Airtel as the fastest network and JIO as the slowest.
Speed plays a major role in this war, and users are always eager to test who wins!
